To whom it concerns,

I was shocked to read that a horror exhibition of fox fur rugs, cushions and all other sort of sordid items was sold at the 19th Craft Design in Sao Paulo.
These items were provided by Silvina Marotti (www.silvinamarotti.com ).

Fur and fur trims such as neck fur, stoles, coats, ponchos, shawls, scarfs, bags, hats, fur hats, legwarmers, gloves, belts, even keyrings and cell phone covers, hide enormous animal suffering.
They all took away a life.
Fur bearing animals endure hideous suffering and death. They are caught in the wild with snares, leghold and conibear traps and endure excruciating pain.
Death is rarely swift. In a desperate attempt to escape, many try to chew their limbs off, or languish for hours or even days until the trapper returns, only to be shot or clubbed to death if they are still alive.
Others die of infection or become prey to other animals. At least one of every four animals gnaw their teeth to the jawbone.

Both for how the animals are raised (small cages, cold, non-existent hygienic-sanitary conditions, confinement has severe psychological
implications, fear), and killed (electrocution, nape shot, gas poisoning, hammer blow on the muzzle, nail stick into the front, drowning). These
animals are foxes, ermines, minks, chinchilla , rabbits and many other animals such as cats and dogs.
In some Oriental countries, such as China, animals are skinned alive!

Many designers took the ethical decision to stop using fur and fur trims in their collections.

Whether it comes from minks, foxes, raccoons, chinchillas, beavers, rabbits, or lynx, fur looks best on its original owners.
Promoting the violence of the fur industry is unacceptable!!!
Remember: Compassion is always in fashion, cruelty NEVER is.
I hope that you will show some compassion towards animals by refusing to exhibit any item that has a history of animal cruelty.

Sincerely,

Electrocution
